Overview

The GS8525 is a DMX512 LED driver IC from Genesis-Systech (Shenzhen Junlue Technology). Rather than a self-clocked single-wire pixel protocol, it receives a standard DMX512 differential signal and decodes it directly to drive four output channels (RGBW) with 16-bit (65536-level) grayscale per channel at a 32kHz PWM refresh rate. It operates across a wide 7 to 36V supply range and is packaged in SOP16 or ESSOP10. Because refresh is well above 20kHz, output is comfortably flicker-free for camera capture. The part also carries integrated white-light current boosting (2x/3x), open-solder detection, a no-signal display state, reverse PWM, and settable refresh and pulse width.
