About ENTTEC
In 1999, ENTTEC founder Nicolas Moreau asked a simple question: “Why can’t I control DMX lighting from a computer?” His answer was the Open DMX USB, the world’s first PC-to-fixture interface and the product that started the company. It was designed to be affordable, well engineered and deceptively simple, and the ‘Open’ in its name meant its schematics were freely available for anyone to study and build on. The idea spread rapidly, opening up creative possibilities across the lighting industry.
From that first interface we built DMX-over-Ethernet and the ENTTEC range of nodes, then added control software, and went on to design our own pixel drivers and LED fixtures. Today ENTTEC is a leader in pixel lighting, with the award-winning ELM (ENTTEC LED Mapper) at the heart of the system and EMU, our sound-to-light controller, as a second vertical.
Every lighting installation is a control system: software, drivers and fixtures working together. ENTTEC is one of very few companies that makes all three itself, so customers get one guaranteed-compatible system from a single vendor instead of stitching separate brands together and hoping they cooperate. We have engineered software since the beginning, for more than 25 years, and we back the whole system with local teams across the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and Australia.

Our presence in the global lighting industry
As our product range grew, so did our international reach. We launched ENTTEC Americas in 2010 in North Carolina’s Research Triangle, later adding a presence in Florida, and expanded to Europe in 2013 with an office in London and a network of dealers. In 2023, we opened our first Middle Eastern office in Dubai, alongside our long-standing operations in Australia. With teams on the ground across these regions and two manufacturing facilities, customers who design a project in one country and install it in another get local support at both ends. Known today for high-end LED luminaires, control software and innovative pixel systems, we keep investing in research and testing to deliver exceptional results for every project.
